What customer information is collected?
We collect only basic information about you and your company when you open an account. We ask you for your name, company name, e-mail address, mailing address, phone number, business type (i.e., aerospace, medical, etc.) and range of number of employees. Credit card information is only required when you are ready to make a purchase online. Quality Data Bay uses a well recognized merchant service and therefore does not store or have access to your credit card information.
How is this information used?
The information collected is required to conduct business. Quality Data Bay stores a few marketing type details about our customers so we can study what types of companies are using our database products. We use this information to perfect our database products. We will not contact you unless you ask us to.
How is this information protected?
We implement a variety of security measures to maintain the safety of your personal information. Your personal information is contained behind secured networks and is only accessible by a limited number of persons who have special access rights to such systems, and are required to keep the information confidential. When you place orders or access your personal information, we offer the use of a secure server. All sensitive/credit information you supply is transmitted via Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technology and then encrypted into our databases to be accessed only as stated above.
Is this information disclosed to third parties?
We do not sell, trade, or otherwise transfer to third parties any personally identifiable information unless we provide you with advance notice, except as described herein. The term “third parties” does not include Quality Data Bay. It also does not include website hosting partners and other parties who assist us in operating our website, conducting our business, and servicing Quality Data Bay customers, so long as those parties agree to keep this information confidential. We may also release your information when we believe release is appropriate to comply with the law, enforce our site policies, or protect the rights, property, or safety of Quality Data Bay employees, our customers or the general public.
Profile Privacy Statement
Please note that once you create an account, your profile information is initially public and visible to other website members. This means that when other users click on a blog you wrote, they will be able to see who wrote the blog. If they click on your user information, they will be able to see your profile information. Your profile is also visible through the blog directory. To change your profile from public to private, change your profile so no one can see your profile information. Follow these instructions:
- Go to My Profile located on the Support menu
- Click on Settings and then Privacy
- Change Profile Privacy setting to “Only Me” AND
- Change Hide my Profile from Groups, Directories and Search Results to “Yes”
With these changes to your settings, you will be able to write about your experiences (social blogs) with Quality Data Bay products and read other user’s blogs anonymously, and maintain your privacy.
