How It Works

Download a 30 day trial license from the downloads page; please remember to also download the QDB Central Database. Only one is needed, even if you are running multiple databases, such as Change Order, Equipment and Customer Feedback.

Utilize: Try out your trial version. The first time you open it, you will need to point it to QDB Central file (if the database is unable to locate it on its own). The database license will be fully functional for 30 days, after which a product key is required to upgrade and continue. Prior to and any time after that point, you may enter the correct product key (see steps below) to secure your software license and continue use of the database.

Submit: From the Upgrade form (the first form you encounter each time you open your trial database; also available through the Customization / Setup form), click on “Upgrade Now”. You will be directed to the Quality Data Bay website; simply select the product and click “Add to Cart”.

Purchase: Follow the instructions on the website to make your secure product key purchase. When the purchase of your license upgrade is complete, you will receive your unique product key on the confirmation page or through a confirmation email. This product key will unlock your database so it can be used beyond the trial period. Note that you must have a user account with qdatabay.com to make a purchase.

Enter: Copy your new product key and paste it into the Upgrade form; then click “Upgrade Now”. Your database will confirm to you that the upgrade was successful, and you are set to go!

A Few Notes:

All data entered during the trial phase will be retained when you upgrade to a live version with a product key. Don’t want that data? Simply download a fresh copy of the database (before purchasing your Product Key) and perform the upgrade on that copy.

PLEASE NOTE THAT EACH DOWNLOADED DATABASE TRIAL HAS ITS OWN UNIQUE LICENSE NUMBER, AND THE PRODUCT KEY TO UPGRADE ANY LICENSE NUMBER IS ALSO UNIQUE; DO NOT BUY A PRODUCT KEY FOR AN INSTANCE OF A DATABASE THAT YOU DO NOT INTEND TO USE!

It is possible to have multiple databases in any combination of Trial and Standard database versions installed and running on your computer or server simultaneously. However, Quality Data Bay does not recommend running multiple versions of the same database product at the same time.
