The Right Report

During the trial period, most people look at database functionality and how it conforms and aligns with the company’s existing processes. Do the features meet my expectation? Is the licensing arrangement suitable to meet the demands of my company’s growth? Is the cost too high? Are electronic signatures utilized throughout? Is this software popular and intuitive to use? However, little attention is paid to reporting features before a company makes their decision to align with a particular quality management system software.

Some quality management system software include stock reports that are generic and typically don’t have the detail or structure needed. They can be thrown together at the end of the software cycle to offer basic reporting structure that can only be edited with 3rd party plug in software.

Lastly, what good are all of those fancy filters and sorting capabilities if you can’t recall them for later use. The best reporting features include a save filter or save query command so you can save a report configuration and recall it each week, month or quarter to save time producing consistent reports.

The right reports are those that employees and management will use every week, month or quarter that show you the detail needed to make informed decisions.
