Finding a specific quality record in a database with literally thousands of records can be a challenge. There are open and closed records, records assigned to specific people, records identified by initiator, date, type, status, risk level, and so on. Perhaps you wish to search for records associated with a document number, or reference to an audit, corrective action, training class or equipment. Maybe you are looking for records within a specific date range or that contain a text string in one or more fields. These searches are all possible in a database when you have knowledge of query writing.
However, some database developers design a built-in query or filtering process so the inexperienced user can easily find a record or record set. Don’t get lost inside your database. Look for a quality management system database that has a robust records search and filtering process so you can quickly find the record you need.
